We are pleased to announce that effective 20. November 2025, Semilab has acquired Bristol Nano Dynamics Ltd. (BND), a spin-out of the University of Bristol in the UK.

BND is an instrument manufacturer specializing in rapid, high-resolution mapping and nanoscale surface characterization. Their 40+ years’ of combined experience in developing scanning probe microscopes resulted in versatile and user-friendly tools to address measurement challenges at any scale: from individual samples in your research lab through to manufacturing quality assurance.

BND’s Dynamic SPM technology is built on fundamentally different physical principles than traditional SPM and AFM systems, opening the door to a new level of performance and measurement capabilities. By integrating this unique approach, Semilab aims to further elevate its metrology portfolio and deliver next-generation solutions for the semiconductor industry and life-science & high-tech material research.

During the transition period we are carrying out a thorough review of sales distribution and support structure and initiating a plan to harmonize them with Semilab’s global sales and support organization. For existing systems in the field, Semilab will make its best efforts to maintain a continuous supply of spare parts, and where possible, may also quote field service support. Further information will be communicated as it becomes available.
